I’d like to say a big “Hello and God Bless!” to our new family at St. Margaret. My wife, Patti, my boys, and I are very excited to be here with you. The Reynolds family consists of 4 boys, Gregory, Ronnie, Johnnie, and Jimmy. My two older boys are married and live in Pennsylvania. The oldest is married and has my first grandchild, Avi, while the second oldest and his wife are expecting in September. And, yes, it is a boy! As you can tell, there are a lot of boys in the family! The last two boys are still living at home. The third oldest graduated this year from Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio with a degree in business, and is presently looking for employment. The youngest is going into his sophomore year at Franciscan University. My son, Ronnie, and his wife, Emma, are also both Franciscan University graduates, and both work as Catholic Youth Ministers in the area of Lancaster County in Pennsylvania.
This is an AMAZING year of celebration for my family despite the COVID-19 situation. In addition to the graduation year, and a new grandchild in September, my wife and I are celebrating our 25
th wedding anniversary on July 15, and I will be celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Orders as a Permanent Deacon for the Syracuse Diocese on July 22. On July 26
th, I will turn 60 years old. To top it off, I am starting as a new deacon, in the position of Pastoral Associate in a new parish with a wonderful new parish family at St. Margaret!
My wife Patti is a mom and grandma, who taught third grade until our first son was born at which time she became a stay-at-home mom. She volunteered in classrooms, was a substitute teacher, and caretaker for her parents. In our previous parish, Divine Mercy in Central Square, NY, she taught First Communion, worked in youth ministry, funeral ministry, and bereavement ministry. She also participated in the wives’ diaconate program.
As for myself, I’ve been a professional cartoonist/artist for 30 years. I license my work to national greeting card companies like American Greetings I worked at the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau for 22 years as the Youth Activities Coordinator and was the Parish Life Coordinator for Divine Mercy Parish in Central Square, NY. I received my degree in Psychology from SUNY Oswego, and am a Navy veteran, having served on the USS NIMITZ aircraft carrier as a religious program specialist. Lastly, I am a nationally published author, and I’ve traveled around the country doing evangelization work with my apostolate called the “Divine Comedy” presentation in which I use my humorous religious cartoons to help increase awareness of the importance of humor and joy in our faith lives. I do religious paintings as well.
