Summer began officially last Wednesday. These days are going by so quickly. I want to thank all of our committees, councils, our choir and musicians, and parish organizations for all your great ministry during the past year. Summertime is rather quiet at church, in terms of meetings, however, we will gear-up full speed in September! Your parish staff spent a day last week planning the church calendar of events and meetings for the coming year. We look forward to getting more and more people involved in our parish, especially our newly registered parishioners.
Please note there is no daily Mass this week. I will be on a clergy retreat at Christ The King retreat house in Syracuse. The speaker will be Fr. Dan Horan, a Franciscan theologian. His topic is “The Ministerial Wisdom of Two Men Named Francis.” Both men named Francis present the church and world with models for Christian living that are rooted in the Gospel and reflect what it means to live one’s baptismal vocation. Focusing in particular on the importance of their insights for clergy, this retreat will center on what St. Francis and Pope Francis can teach us about our relationship with God, with one another, and with the rest of creation. It should be a very interesting week!
Don't forget your annual HOPE APPEAL pledge or offering. You can make a difference in helping those in need in our diocese.
Congratulations to Ben Connery and Helen O'Neil who will be married at St. Margaret's church on Friday, June 30th. May God bless their union with happiness and peace.
