Dear Parishioners: Lent is a time for healing, a time for reflection and prayer. If you asked someone the question, "Do you pray enough?" I think 95% of us would say, "No..I wish I would pray more often." Prayer is a discipline- it takes time and planning to do some real praying!
Here are some tips about prayer. Try to set aside a regular time each day, early in the morning or evening, when you are not distracted with other things. Have a "prayer space," that is, a room or certain place in the house where you are comfortable and where you can focus your attention on God. Begin with silence; talk to God in your own words; read a passage from the gospel; make a prayer list of people that you want to pray for. End your prayer with the Our Father or another memorized prayer. Your day will go much smoother if you pray regularly!
