With the worldwide outbreak of the coronavirus, we are confronted once more with the fragility of our lives, and again we are reminded of our common humanity; that the peoples of this world are our brothers and sisters, that we are all one family under God. God does not abandon us, He goes with us even now in this time of trial and testing. At this moment, it is important for us to anchor our hearts in the hope that we have in Jesus Christ.
As I read the headlines in the New York Times, Washington Post, Fox News, I see so much about what we are losing - loss of life, loss of jobs, loss of investments, etc., etc. During this time of crisis, it is important for us to concentrate on the positive; what we have, what our blessings are. We have our faith, our families, friends, we have food and a place to live, we have the hope that things will eventually be better. When talking with your family members and friends, point out the good stuff, the positive. Let us not lose hope, but place ourselves totally in God's hands.
I also want to ask you to continue supporting your parish with your financial offerings. We are paying our part-time staff who are working from home.
