Congratulations to Matthew and Mary Noble on the occasion of the baptism of their son, Charlie Robert. Charlie was born on February 1st, and he is their second child. We pray that Charlie's life will be guided by the Holy Spirit and that he will always know the love of his family and our parish community.
This week I will be at Alexandria Bay, attending our yearly clergy conference. Our new bishop will be with us, as well as the priests and deacons of our diocese. This will give us a chance to meet our new bishop, Douglas Lucia, and to hear his thoughts and hopes for the future of our diocese.
I want to call your attention to a wonderful speaker who will be giving a presentation here at St. Margaret's. Fr. John Rose will be speaking on the topic: “Deepening Our Faith: Invitations from Jesus to recognize our belovedness.” The presentation will be Saturday, October 5th, after the 4:00 p.m. Mass in our church hall. A light dinner will be served. Father John Rose is a retired priest of our diocese. He has served in parishes in Syracuse, Baldwinsville, and Utica. He recently retired as pastor of St. Vincent DePaul Church in Syracuse and as Director of Christ the King Retreat House. Reservations will be required so we can plan on food. Please call our parish office to reserve your seat 607-749-2542 or email: [email protected]. Deadline for dinner reservations is Tuesday, October 1st.
Are you interested in becoming a Catholic? Each year our parish welcomes new members into our faith at the Easter Vigil Mass. The process for becoming a Catholic takes several months of discussion, prayer, and discernment. If you or someone you know might be interested in becoming a Catholic, please call me at the church office. We are presently forming a group of adults who are interested in our faith.
